Updating & uninstalling

Update

Download the newest installer from mihael.pages.dev and run it over the current install.

In the app, Settings → About also surfaces update status when a newer package is available.

Your data is not in the installer. Config, keys, chats, and skills stay in ~/.hermes/ across upgrades.

Uninstall

Settings → About → Danger zone:

• Uninstall Chat GUI only — removes the desktop app; data stays
• Uninstall GUI + agent, keep my data — removes the app, keeps config and chats for a later reinstall
• Uninstall everything — removes the app and all user data in ~/.hermes/

On Windows you can also use Apps & features. On macOS, drag the app to Trash, then optionally delete ~/.hermes/ if you want a clean slate.
