Secrets (API keys, bot tokens) are stored locally. Config and chats live under ~/.hermes/ on your machine.
Import / export
The settings window can export and import a config snapshot, and reset to defaults. Export does not include API keys unless the flow says otherwise — treat any exported file as sensitive.
Data folder
~/.hermes/ holds config, keys, sessions, skills, and logs. Installers do not wipe it on upgrade. Settings → About → Danger zone can remove it if you choose Uninstall everything.
