Where do I download it?

mihael.pages.dev. Signed Windows, macOS, and Linux packages. Android APK and iPhone home-screen client are on the same site.

Is the source public?

No. MihaEL is a licensed product. You get the complete desktop application, not a git repo to build from.

How do I activate it?

Paste a MIHAEL.1.… key in Settings → License (or the first-launch overlay). Six months, two devices. See License.

How do I pick a model?

Settings → Model for the default. The composer picker (left of the microphone) changes the current chat only. Settings → Providers is where you sign in or paste API keys. Nous Portal covers models plus web/image/TTS/browser with one login.

Where is my data?

On this machine, under ~/.hermes/. API calls go only to the provider you configured. There is no product telemetry.

Can I use a local model?

Yes. Settings → Providers → Custom endpoints (Ollama, vLLM, llama.cpp, …) or Local AirLLM. Start a new chat after switching.

The app asks to approve a command

That is Safety. Destructive shell commands wait for you. The status bar YOLO toggle skips prompts for this session only.

Phone

The phone is a chat client. Use Host my agent or paste a server URL. See Mobile.

Updates

Download a new installer from the site, or check Settings → About. Your data folder is not deleted on upgrade.

The name Hermes appears in a folder or model list

~/.hermes/ is the on-disk data path (compatibility). Hermes-4 in a model picker is a Nous Research model family, not this product. The product is MihaEL.
